Power Outage Affects Brighton Saturday, October 24th

Approximately 1,670 United Power customers served by the Bromley Substation experienced an outage on Saturday, October 24^th. The area affected included Bromley Lane from Tower Road, west to South 4^th Avenue, and north to Southern Street, and along the south side of Bromley Lane – including the King Soopers area. The outage which began at 8:15 p.m., with 50% of those affected back on my 8:24 p.m. Power to the remaining customers was restored by 8:35 p.m. The apparent cause was a “fused elbow” feed service to the substation transformer. United Power crews are on site today to begin completing final repairs. No additional issues are expected during the repairs. Thanks to all our customers who utilized our outage notification system during this outage. Remember, it is the best way for us to determine the full extent of any system outage, and to assure that your power is restored as quickly as possible.
