With the return of daylight, so have our crews. Lineworkers are back in the field with additional support on the way from the Plains district. We estimate 51 members are still without power.
⚠️ We have received several reports of trees in lines and downed lines. DO NOT attempt to remove debris or branches caught in power lines and always assume downed lines are energized. Please report safety concerns to the co-op.

Updated Dec. 9 at 9:30 p.m.
Crews were able to address three major outages, reducing outage numbers from 900 affected members to about 60 members currently without power. Crews have been pulled out of the field for safety rest until the light of day tomorrow. Members who are without power as of 9:30 p.m. will remain out until tomorrow, when rested crews will resume restoration efforts.
Remaining outages are scattered across the territory. Due to terrain, tree interference in lines, and the distance between each service location, restoration will continue to be slow-going. It is also possible that weather conditions could cause additional outages overnight and into the morning hours. Please report new outages using our outage reporting channels.
Thank you to our members for reporting outages, downed trees, and other safety hazards. We appreciate your support of our hardworking line crews. Your cooperative will be back at it upon daybreak to ensure every last member has power.

Updated Dec. 9 at 7 p.m.
Conditions in United Power's mountain territory are not improving, and members currently without power should prepare now for the possibility of overnight outages.
An estimated 900 members remain without power. The current priority areas are the Crescent and Lincoln Hills areas, where repairs will restore service to the most members first. However, sustained wind conditions, darkness, and crew fatigue are slowing restoration efforts.
Crews will remain on site for a few more hours before they will be pulled off the restoration efforts for mandatory rest to ensure their safety. An update on the status of outages and restoration will be posted around 9 p.m. Refreshed crews and backup support will resume restoration efforts at first light on Wednesday.
Our sincerest thanks to our members for their patience during this winter weather event. The safety of our members and our field crews remains our top priority.

Tuesday, Dec. 9 at 1:00 p.m.
Several isolated outages across United Power's mountain territory are currently affecting cooperative members. We estimate that around 650 members are without power due to multiple scattered outages.
Wind speeds in Gilpin County reached 90 mph today, resulting in outages across the territory. United Power crews continue to respond and make necessary repairs; however, scattered outages are slowing response times. Additional crews from United Power's plains territory are assisting with the restoration efforts.
We appreciate the patience of our members as crews continue to work in the area until all members have their power restored.
