Colorado's first Derecho, and one of the strongest on record, hits the service area. Winds reaching 110 mph tore down trees and threw debris into power line. Nearly 40 poles were snapped by wind or objects thrown by the wind. More than 10,000 members were without power at the height of the damage.

To assist members who were struggling to pay bills due to job loss or illness, United Power established the Co-op Cares fund. Funded with unclaimed capital credits, it was designed to assist members affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. In two years, the Co-op Cares Fund provided $550,000 in direct assistance to 3,004 members facing financial hardships due to the pandemic.

United Power installs its first public DC Fast electric vehicle charger. The charger is on the ChargePoint network and placed in front the cooperative's Coal Creek office, where public EV charging options are limited. Two more public chargers are later installed in strategic locations in the territory - a Keenesburg charger in 2021 and a charger located in Carbon Valley in 2022.

A historic bomb cyclone slams into Colorado, bringing hurricane force winds and blizzard conditions to the service area. At the height of the storm, just over 10,000 members were without power. Activation of more than 50 linemen working through treacherous conditions and new technology that allowed for restoration from the office minimized the number of lengthy outages for affected members.
